Virginia Oncology Associates/Sentara Healthcare currently operates six radiation sites in the greater Norfolk area. Currently we have an opening for an ABR certified medical physicist at the Lake Wright Cancer Center location. This free-standing cancer center is equipped with a Varian 2100 EX Linear Accelerator, Portal Vision, IMPAC Record & Verify System, CMS Treatment Planning System, GE QXI, GE Advantage Workstation. The physicist responsible for this site will be part of a group of seven physicists but will be solo at this site and must be able to function independently.

Employees in radiation oncology have access to not only the hospital resources but also to those from US Oncology, the nation's largest heathcare network dedicated exclusively to cancer care and research.Southeast Virginia is a major port of entry and home to multiple military branches. The region provides a pleasant climate thouthout most of the year. Winters are short and summers are mild along this coastal region.
